Description
My entry for the pet design contest!
Not much more I can add to the description; although in afterthought, I could have worked "hulking" into the description of the monster cabbage form.
Why a walking cabbage?
IDK exactly, I just thought that I would like a pet that was very different from what is already available in-game, and cabbage seemed appropriate as a RuneScape theme. I wanted something more interesting than a head of cabbage just rolling around behind players, so I thought of giving it arms and legs.
Why does it turn into a monster cabbage?
A cute little walking cabbage is good, but a ginormous (for a cabbage) buffed up brassica is better. (to me, anyway)
Being a comic geek, the monster cabbage idea reminded me of Hulk, so having that anger-induced transformation as the emote seemed perfect. It seemed good & "showy" without getting too big & impractical to do.
And of course Bruce Banner can't remember what he does while he's the Hulk, so neither does the cabbage.
Unused pet ideas were: (note: I didn't look at the DA page until *after* I emailed my cabbage design to the contest)
1)A "kitsune" type fox; I thought it might turn human for an emote, but decided that the "fox-person" would look too much like the Solomon's fox outfit.
2)A giant bee; I thought it could do a "waggle dance" for an emote. This was going to be my submission, but then I thought of giving the cabbage limbs & having it "Hulk out", and decided that I just liked that idea best!
After looking at other submissions, I'm glad I went with the cabbage, since there's like nothing like it posted by others; but I do like Songofthevalley's "fox of six ages" & PlebMaster's "kalphite", which are similar to my kitsune & giant bee ideas. -- Parallel thinking happens, deal with it; that's why I didn't go to DA before emailing my design. (although my kitsune only had one tail in fox form, so actually I think the six-tailed fox is bit cooler)
